ICE CLIMBING PYRENEES

ICE CLIMBING IN THE PYRENEES WITH GRANDE COURSE MOUNTAIN GUIDES.

When winter arrives in the Pyrenees, many waterfalls, gorges and streams freeze, creating all kinds of ice structures and formations. These ephemeral formations offer unique climbing experiences that we will never forget.

The ice climbing season in the Pyrenees can be highly unpredictable, so it is important to stay alert and be ready to make the most of the moment when conditions are right. When they are, we can enjoy some of the finest ice climbing areas in Europe, including the iconic Cirque de Gavarnie, a true frozen paradise.

Some of our suggestions:

  • Izas Valley

  • Cirque de Gavarnie

  • Canal Roya

  • Cirque de Barrosa

  • Pineta

  • Benasque
