MONT BLANC ASCENT WITH GRANDE COURSE GUIAS DE MONTAÑA.
At 4,810 metres, Mont Blanc lies on the border between France and Italy. It is the highest peak in the Alps and one of Europe’s most iconic mountains.
There are many routes to the summit of Mont Blanc, ranging from the standard routes to more technical and demanding climbing and mountaineering routes.
At Grande Course, we invite you to enjoy this ascent accompanied by a UIAGM mountain guide, who will ensure that your experience is both safe and enjoyable throughout.
Duration:
Depending on the programme chosen.
5-day programme North Face Normal Route (France) + prior acclimatisation:
Day 0: meeting and equipment check. Overnight in the Chamonix Valley.
Day 1: acclimatisation day
Day 2: acclimatisation day
Day 3: approach to the Tête Rousse hut, taking the Bellevue cable car followed by the Mont Blanc tramway to Nid d’Aigle, then continuing on foot to the refuge.
Elevation gain: 900m. Duration: 3h.
Day 4: ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc. We leave early from the Tête Rousse hut, passing the Goûter hut, and continue to the summit before descending to the hut. Overnight at the Goûter hut.
Elevation gain: 1,600m. Elevation loss: 1,000m. Duration: 9h.
Day 5: return to the Chamonix Valley. End of the activity.
Elevation loss: 1,500m. Duration: 4h to Nid d’Aigle.
3-day programme North Face Normal Route (France):
Day 0: meeting and equipment check. Overnight in the Chamonix Valley.

3-day programme – Trois Monts Route / Four-Thousanders Route (France):
Day 0: meeting and equipment check. Overnight in the Chamonix Valley.
Day 1: take the Aiguille du Midi cable car. Ascent of Pointe Lachenal or traverse of the Lachenal Points. Overnight at the Cosmiques hut (3,613m).
Day 2: ascent to the summit of Mont Blanc. We leave in the early hours from the hut. Col du Mont Blanc du Tacul – Col du Mont Maudit – Col de la Brenva – Mont Blanc summit – Goûter hut. Overnight at the Goûter hut. (It is also possible to descend via the same route.)
Elevation gain: 1,450m. Elevation loss: 1,000m. Duration: 9h.
Day 3: return to the Chamonix Valley. End of the activity.
Elevation loss: 1,500m. Duration: 4h to Nid d’Aigle.
The section leading up to the Col du Tacul is exposed to serac fall. Depending on route conditions, the guide reserves the right to modify the itinerary for safety reasons. As this is a longer and more committing ascent, the guiding ratio is 1 participant per guide.

Difficulty:
Moderate to challenging. A good level of fitness and experience with mountain ascents involving 1,500m of elevation gain are required. For the 3-day programme, previous experience using crampons is essential. Prior acclimatisation is also important for the 3-day programme.

2 participants: €1,325/person
*Two days of acclimatisation followed by the Mont Blanc ascent in 2 days may be possible, depending on conditions.

Equipment required
Clothing suitable for mountaineering and adapted to the weather conditions. A detailed equipment list will be provided when the programme is booked.
Mountaineering boots, either rigid or semi-rigid depending on conditions.
Certified climbing helmet.
Lightweight certified harness.
Mountaineering ice axe and classic crampons.
Trekking poles.
Headlamp.
Cap/beanie, sunglasses, sun cream, water and food.
2–3 pairs of gloves.
Ski goggles or mountaineering goggles.
Emergency blanket.
Mountaineering backpack, maximum 30L.
Lightweight sleeping-bag liner.
